Color Psychology

 

Timeless, and authentic. This is what Grey means when it is in a product or describing a service. If you gave it a thought or two, you would find out that if the world is just black in white, grey will be the savior that will bring the balance within. Usually, people would find that it is one of the major colors that can define Spiritual and Financial prosperity.

 

Take a look at Apple, what logo color did they choose? Why? Maybe it is because as a brand, it reflects innovation and title. What about their products? What is the most dominant color? Think about most of their PCs, like when I ask you “have you seen the MacBook?”, what is the image you have in your mind? There is no telepathy neither astrology needed when I say that you imagined a grey laptop. Because they used this as their theme color. Take a look at Porsche, the 911 especially. It has been holding the same design outline and the same body structure ever since it was established in 1963. Till 2021. Yes, technology has been a factor, but the tradition is the same. From the round headlights, the analog watch on the cockpit to the rear engine design ideology. You can google Porsche 911, and you will see that the most preeminent color is Grey.

 

Assertive, and aggressive. It is usually the color of command. The reflection of the light on that colored surface reflects an energize and exciting stimuli. It’s Red. Do you feel the frequency of the energy? Transcending, isn’t it? You might be feeling cheerful, and it enlightens your whole surroundings. Neurologically, yellow is the official competitor with red when it comes to the eye grasp, and it increases brain activity. No wonder why the warning signs were stereotyped to be yellow.  Most of the motivating quotes’ fonts rely heavily on the color of the sunflower, which is perceived as a source of admiration, faith, and loyalty. This is the Yellow power everyone.

Maturity. There is a color for that too. Artistically speaking, it takes 2 crayons, a sketch paper, and a curious 4-year-old to know that Orange is the hybrid of Red and Yellow. Considering the psychological perspective, Orange is the mix between the energy of red and the vibrance of yellow. It reflects all aspects of success. From the courage of holding the responsibility of the actions done throughout life, and the eagerness to face the consequences. It reflects the spirit of an entrepreneur, whether the drive is optimism, enthusiasm, creativity, and risk-taking. You can take a look at the Mastercard logo, and slowly yet effectively relate.

 

Individualism and innocence. Maybe peace? Why so? Because it reflects between 80% to 90% of sunlight, just to keep all of that purity to its surface. You are at a wedding, and all of you have been invited to attend and witness a couple facing each other, and a middleman in between. The dress the woman was wearing, what was it? WhiteBut why? I mean why the bride always wears a white dress. Is it a culture? Even if, who made this up? Let’s take it slow, marriage means a new life a new begging, and a blank page, what is the color of the page? White. It is open, and flexible to add to it whatever meaning you want. Mighty. This is one word to express power. A color that explains strength, it's Black. Its power is in sophistication. Maybe it is because it is the origin of the RGB spectrum? - It is the color of mystery. Maybe it delivers this thought through the intense mixed emotions that are gathered from the three prime colors? There is a prime, and there is an origin. I won’t say much about this color because it clearly can speak for itself. Abundance. We see it everywhere. It is a transcending color; it takes you up.

This color is one of the three prime colors, maybe because of the meanings, it carries around. Do you know that the first time this type of RGB spectrum was firstly documented in ancient Egypt? It was used for Jewelry and Décor. It is no wonder why it is named “The spirit of the Art”; maybe it is because its first purpose was mainly Artistic. Psychologically speaking, blue initiates the feelings of comfort, to the extent of inner self-peace because it helps in achieving mental clarity and entire focus. If you are into mindfulness and meditation, you will explain why they usually say, “imagine sunny weather on a beach”. From the Marketing perspective, you can see Jeff Bezos's startup “Blue Origin” that is for commercial space travel, maybe he chose Blue to initiate the Element of trust. Just like Facebook too, they sell our data, but they hypnotize the users with colors. Trust can also come from Reliability, that is what the automotive Brand “Ford” main concern. They showed us that in their Logo.

Kindness. This is the Asset that is needed to keep our everyday lives easier for ourselves and others. It is the color of nature. It is the color of the MVP of the ecosystem. Green. When we go to Starbucks, we usually find students working on their academic projects there, and adults discussing things related to productivity. Maybe it is because they sell the Premium booster of productivity stimulus, coffee. Also, psychologically, green do sand for Health, Productivity, and spirituality. Think about the prayer’s sanctums like Masjids and churches. You will always find something Green-related.
